In today’s digital age, mobile forensics plays a critical role in investigations, cybersecurity, and research. But one of the biggest challenges in this field is generating high-quality datasets to train and validate forensic tools. Traditionally, creating these datasets has been a manual, time-consuming process

making it hard to keep up with the rapidly evolving mobile ecosystem.

Our team is excited to introduce a novel AI-driven approach that transforms how datasets are generated for mobile forensics. By leveraging the power of large language models (LLMs), we create dynamic “storyboards” that simulate sequences of user activities on mobile devices. These storyboards serve as blueprints for automated data injection, enabling realistic, repeatable, and scalable dataset creation.

This method is implemented through our proof-of-concept framework called AutoPodMobile (APM). APM not only automates activity execution on devices but also ensures the generated data is validated for consistency and realism. The result is a robust, AI-powered pipeline that accelerates forensic research and testing, providing researchers and practitioners with datasets that closely resemble real-world scenarios.

Looking ahead, we aim to expand this framework, incorporating more complex user behaviors, multiple device types, and enhanced AI validation methods. The combination of AI and mobile forensics is poised to redefine how datasets are created making forensic analysis faster, smarter, and more reliable than ever before.
